Postcard Designs You Won’t Find At the News Agent
PostSecret is an internationally acclaimed art movement that accepts anonymous homemade postcard submissions from members of the public, with their deepest life secrets written on one side. The brainchild of Frank Warren, PostSecret has emerged as one of art’s more poetic and curiously interesting community projects.
Three award-winning books later, Frank Warren continues to shock millions of readers every week with a series of new post card submissions (or rather admissions!) on each Sunday, released exclusively on PostSecret’s official blog website. Some of the postcards are emotionally rich and have the visceral potency to make the toughest men cry and laugh at the same time, because of their piercing insights into the deepest strata of the human mind. Entries range from humorous, witty and philosophical statements about life in general to more serious cases hinting on tragedy and death.
Is Frank Warren walking on the tightrope of controversy or is his artistic venture a truly phenomenal revelation of the human conscience, a beacon of light in the darkness of the psyche? In some ways, the PostSecret movement does explore the connectivity between disparate human hearts and minds, the idea that every single human being shares a discreet, and almost sacred human connection, a bond that is only realised by excavating deeply within.
